We continue with our look at Bing Crosby's recording career chronologically and Volume 3 begins in June 1951 when Bing got together with Jane Wyman to record songs from the film HERE COMES THE GROOM. The session resulted four songs, one of them being In the cool, cool, cool of the evening, a Top Twenty winner. Bing and Jane had put over this song in a most amusing way and their infectious presentation undoubtedly played a major part in the song receiving the Oscar for Best Film Song for 1951.

Bing's next session in October 1951 produced another Top Twenty number, Domino, a song with French origins. A fortnight later, he recorded The Isle of Innisfree. This appeared in the first ever UK charts on November 1952 peaking at No. 3.

The 27 track CD also includes duets with The Andrews Sisters (I'll Si-Si Ya In Bahia, The Live Oak Tree), songs for the holiday season (Christmas in Killarney, It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas) and those with a "Nashville" sound accompanied by Grady Martin and His Slew Foot Five (Just A Little Lovin', Till The End of The World). The latter reached No. 16 in the US charts. Listening to the variety of songs on this CD you couldn't say Bing was not versatile!
