"Great Motion Picture Themes" reached #2 in the Best Selling Albums chart in 1961 where it remained for a staggering 81 weeks earning itself a gold record award. This was a compilation album of mainly motion picture theme songs or songs from films, and some were even solo hits - Theme from "The Apartment" and "Exodus" by Ferrante and Teicher were both Top Ten hits, "Never on Sunday" reached #19 for Don Costa, Theme from "The Magnificent Seven" and TV's "Bonanza" theme, both performed by Al Caiola also charted. Marilyn Monroe also appears singing "I Wanna Be Loved By You" from "Some Like It Hot". This 29 track compilation appears on CD for the first time.
