Glasgow
in

early
1930s
and
sang

radio
and
recorded
for
Columbia.
Within
2
years
she
had
emigrated
to
America,
appearing
on
Broadway
("Calling
All
Stars", "George

Scandals", "Show
Time"),
at
supper
clubs
and
on
radio
before
appearing
in
films
in
Hollywood
("The
Goldwyn
Follies", "Flying
Hostess", "Woman
Chases
Man").
During
the
second
world
war
she
entertained
troops
in
Europe
and
in
1947
she
achieved
her
greatest
success
starring
in "Finian's
Rainbow"
on
Broadway.
