In 1958 Vera Lynn made a series of radio transcriptions from which the 27 songs on this CD come from. The titles on this collection generally fall in to two categories, the welcome reprise of old favourites and the "cover" versions of popular hit records from the 1950's. Here the listener has the opportunity to hear Vera in peak performance, in the highest quality sound, accompanied by a majestic concert orchestra under the direction of Eric Robinson. Add the fact that most of the titles here she never recorded commercially makes for a rare and rewarding experience.
