Although opera singer Helen Traubel was best known for her Wagnerian roles at the Metropolitan, she also acted in Hollywood films (DEEP IN MY HEART), starred in the Rodgers & Hammerstein Broadway musical PIPE DREAM and was one of the first opera stars to make crossover recordings from the Great American Songbook resulting in a 1957 solo album on the Dot label. This CD features the 14 tracks from the LP and also includes recordings made earlier of standards and from the world of operetta.
