time on CD is the complete Mitch Miller Sing Along "Folk Songs" combined
with the "March Along" album and four previously not on CD bonus tracks.
The
folk song collection opens with one of the nicest and tenderest of all ballads, "On Top of Old Smokey", moving to
"Red River Valley" ending with
two songs of return. In "Oh Susanna!" the singer is going back to see his
true love in Louisiana and in "When Johnny comes marching home". "March
Along" is a collection of high-spirited and familiar marching music such as "Loch
Lomond," "Frere Jacques," "Comin' Through the Rye" and "Do-Re-Mi" from "The Sound of Music" and arranged with dash and spirit.
